AllieBites Privacy Policy

AllieBites is provided by Umfress Business Solutions, LLC (“AllieBites,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

This Privacy Policy explains what information AllieBites collects, how information is used and disclosed, how long information is retained, and the choices available to you.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the AllieBites mobile application and related services.

AllieBites is intended for adults age 18 and older.

2. Information You Provide

Food photographs

When you choose to use the Scan feature, AllieBites processes the food photograph you take or select.

You should photograph food only. Do not intentionally include people, identification documents, medical records, payment information, or other sensitive information in a scan.

Food preferences and restrictions

You may choose to tell AllieBites about:

• Food allergies.
• Food intolerances or sensitivities.
• Dietary preferences.
• Ingredients you avoid.
• Other food preferences supported by the app.

For the initial release, these selections are designed to remain on your device and to be used by AllieBites to compare recipe ingredients against the restrictions you selected.

AllieBites does not use these selections for advertising.

Saved recipes and settings

The app may store information locally on your device, including:

• Saved recipes.
• Food preferences and restrictions.
• App settings.
• Onboarding choices.
• Shopping-list information.
• Other locally saved app content.

Support communications

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, and troubleshooting information.

3. AI Processing

AllieBites uses artificial intelligence to analyze food photographs and generate recipe content.

We currently use Anthropic PBC as an AI service provider.

Before a food photograph is transmitted to Anthropic for AI processing, AllieBites provides a disclosure and asks for permission.

The initial public version of AllieBites is designed so that dedicated allergy, intolerance, sensitivity, and dietary-profile selections are not included in prompts sent to Anthropic.

AllieBites applies those restrictions separately through app-controlled safety checks.

AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading.

AllieBites does not represent that AI-generated recipes are medically appropriate, allergen-free, nutritionally accurate, or safe for a particular individual.

4. Anthropic Data Retention

Anthropic currently states that standard commercial API inputs and outputs are automatically deleted from its backend within 30 days, except where a different retention arrangement applies or retention is required for safety, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.

Anthropic states that commercial API customer content is not used to train its models unless a separate agreement provides otherwise.

We do not represent that individual API requests can always be manually deleted before Anthropic's applicable retention period expires.

For this reason, AllieBites is designed to keep dedicated consumer health information out of Anthropic prompts in the initial public release.

5. Technical and Security Information

When the app communicates with our systems, limited technical information may be processed to provide and secure the service.

This may include:

• IP address.
• Request date and time.
• App version.
• Request identifiers.
• File type and approximate file size.
• Security and abuse-prevention information.
• Error or diagnostic information.

We do not use this information for behavioral advertising.

Application logs should not intentionally record food photographs, allergy profiles, intolerance profiles, or other request-body health information.

6. Subscriptions and Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.

We use RevenueCat to verify purchases, manage subscription entitlements, restore purchases, and support subscription functionality.

RevenueCat may process:

• An anonymous or pseudonymous app user identifier.
• Purchase history.
• Apple receipt information.
• Subscription status.
• Product identifiers.
• Transaction and entitlement information.

RevenueCat also provides subscription analytics associated with these purchase records.

AllieBites does not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.

7. Service Providers

AllieBites currently uses service providers including:

Anthropic PBC

Provides artificial-intelligence processing for food-photo analysis and recipe generation.

Railway

Provides cloud infrastructure used to operate the AllieBites server and transmit requests necessary to provide the service.

RevenueCat

Provides subscription verification, entitlement management, purchase restoration, and subscription analytics.

Apple

Provides App Store distribution, StoreKit, subscription billing, purchase processing, device permissions, and related platform services.

We may replace or add service providers when reasonably necessary to operate AllieBites. Material changes affecting personal information will be reflected in this Policy when required.

8. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Analyze food photographs.
• Generate recipes.
• Display recipe results.
• Compare recipe ingredients against food restrictions stored in the app.
• Operate saved-recipe and shopping-list functionality.
• Verify subscription access.
• Restore purchases.
• Protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use.
• Diagnose technical problems.
• Respond to support and privacy requests.
• Comply with applicable law.
• Enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not use food-allergy or intolerance information for advertising.

9. Data Retention

Information stored on your device

Locally stored information remains on your device until it is deleted through the app, cleared through device controls, or removed when the app is deleted, subject to how the operating system manages application storage.

AI requests

Anthropic's standard commercial API retention currently provides for automatic deletion of inputs and outputs within 30 days, subject to Anthropic's stated exceptions or a different applicable contractual arrangement.

Server and security records

Technical records may be retained for a limited period reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, service operation, or legal compliance.

AllieBites does not intentionally maintain a permanent server-side archive of users' original food photographs for marketing or profiling.

Purchase records

Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase and subscription information according to their respective systems, legal obligations, and applicable agreements.

Support

Support communications may be retained as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain business records, prevent abuse, or satisfy legal obligations.

10. Consumer Health Information

Food-allergy, intolerance, sensitivity, and certain dietary information may qualify as consumer health data under applicable state law.

AllieBites maintains a separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explaining these practices and applicable rights.

We do not sell consumer health data.

We do not use consumer health data for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.

11. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights relating to personal information.

These may include rights to:

• Request information about data associated with you.
• Request correction when applicable.
• Request deletion when applicable.
• Withdraw consent for future processing.
• Obtain information about certain disclosures.

Because AllieBites does not require a traditional user account, we may request limited information reasonably necessary to authenticate a request.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

12. Delete All Data

AllieBites provides or will provide an in-app function for deleting locally stored AllieBites data.

Information stored only on your device must generally be removed through the app's deletion controls or your device.

Deleting the app does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription.

13. No Sale or Advertising Tracking

AllieBites does not sell personal information.

AllieBites does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

The initial version of AllieBites does not include third-party advertising networks.

If these practices change, we will update our disclosures before introducing the new practice when required by law.

14. Camera and Photo Access

AllieBites requests access to the camera or photo library only when needed for a feature you choose to use.

Camera or photo-library permission does not transfer ownership of your photos to us.

You may manage permissions through your device settings.

15. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information processed through AllieBites.

No internet service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

16. Age Requirement

AllieBites is intended for users age 18 and older.

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that information has been collected from a child contrary to applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to address and delete that information where required.

17. United States Availability

The initial public release of AllieBites is intended for distribution in the United States.

Expansion into additional countries may require changes to these practices and this Privacy Policy.

18. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy when AllieBites, our vendors, applicable law, or our data practices change.

When required, we will provide notice or request additional consent before a materially different practice begins.

The Last Updated date identifies the current version.
